It once sustained the water needs and livelihoods of almost 20 neighbouring villages. But today, #Bengaluru’s ill-reputed #BellandurLake is an unbearable frothing toxic fury and a proof of neglect.
It once provided the erstwhile fishing community its daily bread and effortlessly quenched people’s thirst. But today, the lake is so poisonous that its water and air around are harmful to the health of people living nearby and for those commuting that stretch of horror. Drinking water from the lake or fishing cannot be imagined!
It once supported lush green paddy fields. But today, plants and trees around the lake are destroyed by the poison in the environment around it.
WHO is responsible for the sorry state of Bellandur Lake’s waters?
The continuous discharge of untreated sewage containing huge amounts of hazardous chemicals is generating the rapid white froth, which is just an indication of deeper danger to health and life causing the entire natural flora and fauna around the lake to become lifeless.
The lake pollution began way back in the 1970s and till date there has been no solution in sight, with things only getting worse.
WHO will save Bengaluru from this imminent environmental disaster?
WHO will restore the Lake to its pristine and natural beauty?
WILL you fight to bring Bellandur Lake back from the dead?
Does NO ONE really care about Bellandur Lake and Bengaluru?
